These guys have really good wine and what's nice some good, basic principles. They start in the vineyard with low yields, progressive viticulture practices and hand picking and sorting the grapes. Inside the winery they use gravity-flow design and the latest in wine making equipment from around the world. You’ll find an infectious sense of fun and lack of pretension at Flat Rock. From the tasting bar to our wine education programs – it’s all about getting you involved. Their predominant colour is red because it is not only the colour of wine, but also of passion; and they are nothing if not passionate about winemaking!

Founded in 1999 on a spectacular piece of the Niagara Escarpment known as the Jordan Bench – Flat Rock is perched on a gently rolling slope studded with vines. The winery building is a quirky, glass encased, hexagonal masterpiece that‘s distinctive and fun. From here you can enjoy our crowning glory, the breathtaking views of the Peninsula and across Lake Ontario to Toronto. It's the rocks that are the geological foundation of the winery and are found throughout the property are the roots of the Flat Rock Cellars name.
Star-bright cherry-coloured wine with an elegant, nuanced nose that is gently floral with lots of cherry, beet and hints of earth and spice. The palate is intense with flavours of cherry, red currant and a savoury long finish. The tannins are well-structured and very conducive to food pairing.

Twisted has different proportions of Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay every year, but every year you can spot the influences of each variety in the wine. The 2011 Twisted shows its Riesling influence through wet stone, lemon and lime aromas and flavours. Its gewurztraminer influence shows through in ginger, spice and floral characters. The smallest portion of the wine, Chardonnay, is also evident with the peach and pear flavours that show on the palate, as well as the round mouthfeel of the wine. Combining these three varieties in our unconventional and twisted blend always gives us a wine of great complexity. As always, this Twisted is dangerously drinkable.

This approachable, off-dry, Riesling is a crowd-pleaser. Vibrant nose of key lime pie with a juicy pink grapefruit palate.
